• English Corrections

The English language grammar and usage in papers which have been deemed acceptable for publication will be corrected by native English speakers when authors agree to have. The paper in Express Letters does not have the service due to a expedite publication.

The authors will bear part of the cost of corrections. The charge will be up to 5000 yen per printed page, depending on the time required for the correction. Invoice will be sent to authors as a part of publication charge when the paper is published.

The result of the English correction usually is sent to authors via e-mail. Authors are expected to revise the paper in accordance with a recommendation. The revised paper should be prepared in accordance with a instruction for a printing.

(2) General notes
  • Do not use two-byte codes.
  • Prepare only one figure per file.
  • If there are many files or the file is too large:
    - make the files into an archive file using WinZip (MS Windows), StuffIt (Mac OS) or tar+gzip (UNIX and compatible OS's), and
    - save files on an MO disk, or an ISO9660-formatted CD-R.
  • Save figures at actual (100%) size if possible.
  • We will change textures or gradation prepared by all applications which do not support EPS because they may cause an error.
  • Save only photographs with Adobe Photoshop, i.e., do not save line drawings even if you select "Photoshop EPS" or "PICT" on the file menu. However, we will accept, for example, electronic microscopic files that are imported at 300 dpi.
